The Mayor of Milton Keynes unveils mosaic at Penwith School

The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Brin Carstens, unveiled a spectacular mosaic at Penwith School in Fishermead. On Friday 15th September, the Mayor met with staff, children and two artists who collaborated in a project that spanned seven weeks to produce a mosaic some 3 metres long for the front of the school. School staff applied for a grant from the Ernest Cook trust and children drew up designs for the mosaics. Artists, Anastasia-Lee Harmony and Siobhan Fitzpatrick, both Fine Art students at the University of Northampton, then transformed the children’s ideas into the mosaics that now grace the school frontage and classroom doors.
